Exercise and AS: I'm 51 years old with AS for 40 years. My spine is fused with a moderate kyphosis and mild scoliosis. For the last three months I have been doing squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, and rows using a barbell and heavy weights. I feel better and am moving better than I have since before AS. People at the gym are always concerned that I might hurt myself because my form is awkward because of my kyphosis. I don't have any doctor that I really trust on this subject and when I asked they just said as long as it doesn't hurt I'm ok. Does anyone have a similar experience?
